Emily Steen, a graduate of Eastern Christian and Calvin University, is an avid theater artist and educator who enjoys all aspects of theater. As a performer, director, choreographer, and theater instructor, Emily’s greatest passion is sharing the joy of live theater with young performers and watching as they grow in confidence on and off stage. In addition to pursuing her masters in Arts Administration, Emily is currently the Education and Arts Outreach Director at StageWorks Theatre Group, and can usually be found at a school, church, or community theater in Northern New Jersey directing or producing multiple shows at a time. In this past year alone Emily has had the privilege of working with over 300 kids on shows such as Descendants, Elf Jr. Beauty and the Beast Jr, The Little Mermaid Jr, Shrek Jr and teaching musical theater courses such as Through the Decades, Pop Icons, Rock Stars, and more! Emily also offers private acting lessons and audition prep workshops for students. She is the most proud of the Crossroads Drama program that she founded and developed back in 2017 that has since grown into a full-year arts education program that welcomes over 50 local families into a faith-based drama community.
